Story
Centurion Running One Community is a virtual event that takes place over 7 days, starting on Monday 25th May and ending on Sunday 31st May 2020.
I have signed up to run 100 miles over seven days.
I rarely ask for sponsorship, mainly because I think to ask for money you need to be doing something difficult that challenges you. I love to run, why would people sponsor me to go out & have fun?
However, this IS a challenge. I have never run 100 training miles* in a week before, broken down that averages out at 14.3 miles a day. I think I can do it, I know it is going to be hard!
You can follow my progress on Strava, the link is below.
So why the Trussell Trust? It's a charity that I have supported myself for a number of years. Whilst I'm sad that food banks are even needed, they do such important work, especially at the moment during the Coronavirus pandemic. No one should go hungry, now or ever. I'll let them say more about what they do below.
The Trussell Trust
Last year, food banks in our network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us. With your help #ThisCanChange
*Although I have not run a 100 mile training week before, I have completed a 100 mile race in just under 28 hours & I regularly run 50-60 miles a week.
