I am once again pledging my support to the work of the Rangers Charity Foundation and hope you will be able to back me as I take on a very special fundraising challenge.  Between 23 and 29 May I will be leading a team of Rangers Charity Foundation supporters who will be tackling the wild Middle Fork of the Salmon River, Idaho.

Beginning in the high Sawtooth Mountains we will attempt to raft through 75 miles of surging boulder choked rapids up to 15ft tall at a time of year when snow melt generates the highest water levels of the year. The river also boasts the second deepest canyon in North America and with overnight temperatures likely to fall below zero this white water adventure will certainly be a challenge for everyone in the team.  

To say it has been a tough year at Rangers for all concerned would certainly be no exaggeration.  By the same token, my resolve and that of the fans in supporting the Club they love has never been stronger. 

The work of the Rangers Charity Foundation is a wonderful representation of the Club’s caring values and great charitable spirit and I am proud to take part in what will be my second whitewater challenge for the Foundation. 

This season the Foundation has been raising funds in support of projects for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity and UNICEF, and works hard to help many other worthwhile causes up and down the country.
