Race to the Stones · 14 July 2018

Sport has tremendous physical, psychological and social benefits for the participants, particularly young people. WheelPower provides and promotes opportunities for thousands of children and young adults with disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport and improve their quality of life.

Story

On the 14th and 15th of July Martin Beecher and I will be participating in Race to the Stones. It is 100 km along The Ridgeway from Lewknor in Oxfordshire to the stones at Avebury. We start at 09:00 on Saturday 14th and finish by 09:00 on Sunday 15th.

Having visited WheelPower at Stoke  Mandeville I have had the
opportunity to see first-hand some of the work they do.  There were children, who were on a weeklong residential
sports camp, taking part in a wide variety of sports.  Being able to participate in these sports
provides the children with great physical and psychological benefits.

In order to provide the facilities and equipment WheelPower
needs support. Please give what you can to enable WheelPower to continue to
provide these incredible services to anyone in a wheelchair but particularly
the children who typically face other physical challenges as well.
