Story
Last Summer my family’s world fell apart when my brother, Barry, was diagnosed with a grade 4 inoperable brain tumour.
We have all had to watch him go from working full time, running a football team, socialising with friends and looking after his wife, Catherine, and 16 year old son, Callum, to being wheelchair bound and dependant on others to go about his daily business. It’s been a devastating watch cause he was always my hero, the one I looked up to growing up. He was naturally talented in sports and academia whilst I had to work my arse off to achieve anything!!! 🥊
His diagnosis has been hard on him but Barry has been trying to stay positive and maintain his wicked sense of humour.
Since Barry’s diagnosis, I have wanted to do fundraising for a relevant charity and knew it would have to be something challenging since he is going through the most challenging time of his life. I’m petrified of heights so abseiling seemed a “good” choice!! 😬 🤮
So, on 28th August 2022 at 1300 hours I will be abseiling down the Dundee University Tower Building which I have just googled and is quoted to stand at 140 foot!!! Boak tastic!
As for my chosen charity, The Brain Tumour Charity, it needs to raise its profile as more funding is needed for research.
