Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I received a place in the London marathon last year but had just found out I was pregnant. Luckily I’ve been able to defer and I will be running it for CLAPA.
When Charlotte was born she struggled to feed, they initially believed she was tongue tied but after that was snipped the problems continued. After losing quite a bit of weight. Charlotte was admitted to paediatrics where on an initial assessment they spotted that Charlotte had a cleft Palate.. We were in complete shock and felt so guilty that she’d struggled to feed for so long without us knowing.
As soon as this was diagnosed the team from Alder Hey were with us, providing us with suggestions on different ways to feed Charlotte successfully. We were provided with different bottles to try and an abundance of information all from the CLAPA charity. It’s all very daunting when you discover something like this about your child but CLAPA helped us feel at ease, providing free bottles and a lot of knowledge. Charlotte will have surgery next year to close the hole in her mouth so we will continue to utilise CLAPA’s services.
CLAPA are only a small charity and I want to use this challenge to tell you all about them but also raise some money so they can continue with the services they provide.
So bring it on London Marathon.. time to start training!
