Join Team Alzheimer's Society at the world-famous TCS London Marathon and provide help and hope for people affected by dementia.

Story

I am taking on 3 challenges in the hope to raise well needed money for Alzheimer’s society. This beautiful family picture was taken before Jean, David’s mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Having run Richmond Marathon, I am hoping to complete 2 further marathons, London and New York in her memory.

Dementia does not just affect elderly people. There are more than 55 million people living with it worldwide and for every one of those people there is a whole group of family and friends who are forced to watch that person slowly change. Losing memories, physical ability and no longer being the person they knew.

Now onto what I am up to. In September I will be running the Richmond marathon, apparently it’s very scenic, that should help dull the pain. Towards the end of October David will be joining me to complete our favourite run, just a short 10 miles for the Great south.

Finally in April next year, I feel honored to be running the London Marathon, supported by and for the Alzheimer’s society.

Every pound donated will be so gratefully received and help me keep going through the training.

Thank you.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
