Story
I am currently an Art Foundation student completing my final major. For my project I have decided to explore a concept which not only is deeply personal to me but one which unfortunately effects everybody in some way whether directly or indirectly - Cancer. Whether its by knowing someone close or distant who has been effected or just by being effected by the stories of those who have.
One of the main reasons I decided to create this piece was in memory of my Nan who unfortunately passed away in 2014 from lung cancer. A month before she passed I went to visit her in Paris (which is where she had lived) after not seeing her for a few years. At the time I didn't know she was dying. I thought she was just ill, coughing constantly, choking on her own breath. It was absolutely horrendous to watch her suffer, not being able to help her or take the pain away. She passed away a month later.
I have decided to dedicate my project to her memory but I also wanted to open up a donation fund for the Cancer Research UK, not only in memory of her but to all of those who have suffered or are currently fighting. Any donations - no matter how small - would be absolutely amazing to gain support for the cause. All donations will go directly to to Cancer Research UK and although my project may be local, I really want to be able to make a difference to those in need.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support and any donations would be appreciated greatly.
