Story
This March I’m walking 100km for the hospital that helped save our little boy’s life.
This month, March 2026, I’m taking part in the Alder Hey Virtual Challenge to walk 100km.
If you know our story, you’ll know why this means so much to me.
Alder Hey isn’t just a hospital to us. It’s the place that carried our little boy through two open heart surgeries. It’s where I learned what it feels like to live minute by minute.
Azariah was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect before he was born. From that moment on, life felt different, and we were having conversations you never imagine having.
There were nights sitting beside his bed in PICU listening to machines instead of hearing him cry. There were days where just getting through the next hour felt like enough. There were prayers whispered through tears. And there were incredible nurses and surgeons with steady hands who carried us through some of the hardest moments of our lives.
So this challenge is personal.
It’s my way of saying thank you and giving something back. It’s also for the families who are sitting in those hospital rooms right now. To help this incredible hospital continue saving lives, supporting families, and researching new treatments for children.
If you feel able to donate, thank you.
Every penny helps children like Azariah.
And if you can’t donate, sharing the fundraiser means just as much.
With love,
Amber
