Muddy Dog Challenge - Essex · 10 June 2017 ·

We aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Fergal and I am a rescue dog. I am four years old next March and have been living with my family for three years. I love my family very much and I will always remember the day that they took me home, when my mummy swooped me up in her arms and promised me I would always be safe and loved from this day forward. When I was abandoned I was very scared, no one quite knows how long I was on the streets for but I was found by a man in a van who took me to a place where there were lots more scared dogs like me, it was very noisy and we were all confused and frightened. We were good dogs and none of us knew what we had done wrong or why we had been hurt or abandoned. The people who looked after me were very kind. They fed me and kept me warm and told me that my new family would come soon. I watched all the humans come and hoped someone would pick me, that I could have a family all of my own and show what a good boy I am. A month passed and the humans kept walking past my kennel. I started to become very sad and got sick. Then one day after a walk with a carer a big man looked into my kennel and said "that's him". He had a kind face and when he picked me up I felt very safe. I met my new siblings Ava and Pedro and they welcomed me to the family. As I was carried to the car by my new mum I looked back at all the sad faces that had not found a family that day. I said a little prayer in my heart that they would too find their forever families. I was one of the lucky ones. I am happy, safe and loved. I love my walks and playing with my sister Ava and my mum and dad always tell me how special I am and how much they love me. Unfortunately many dogs like me do not get a happy ending. We are discarded, hurt or abandoned and we rely on charities to save us, make us better and help us to find new homes. I want to help abandoned and scared dogs to find their forever homes and receive the love and care that they deserve. We are good dogs, we were just let down by our humans. All we want is a second chance to be part of a family, to care for you, be your best friend and your protector. All we ask for  in return is love. Please help me to help dogs like me and provide safety, health care, love and new homes to dogs who have been let down. I'm ready to get my paws dirty and have been practicing in my pool that mum got for me (see my picture). We are good dogs, please help us, love Fergal Xx
