Story

It takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis and that's too long! I am walking 8k in solidarity with those on the journey to diagnosis and beyond.

I was diagnosed 5 years ago. There are no words for the crippling and debilitating pain. I have grinned, smiled and persevered through it for the last 15 years. It saddens me to see so many young women suffering with their whole lives ahead of them.

I am recovering from recent major surgery (massively grateful to my Surgeon who has given me this much needed breather). Where once 8K was a distance I’d run in one shot at ease- will now take me more than a few days. I will get to the 8K in small bite sized chunks. My target is £800 to symbolise the 8 years it takes to get any sort of diagnosis.

This is a chronic disease that cannot be seen thus ignored. I want to prevent future generations having to go through the 10 year diagnoses. It is only by making these problems known that we can advocate for change and inspire others on their path to diagnosis to keep fighting.

Even though 1 in 10 women have Endometriosis, there isn’t enough awareness and a lot of misconceptions about it and I want to be a part of changing that.

Thank you all for your love and support.

Love and Light always XX
