Story

Thursday 19 December 2019 at 7.00 pm

Central YMCA, 112 Great Russell Street
London WC1B 3NQ

Every day, all over the world, people’s human rights are being violated - people like Yasaman Aryani, a 16 year old Iranian imprisoned for protesting against forced veiling, Yiliyasijiang Reheman, one of a number of Uyghur people seized in Egypt and now imprisoned in China, and Nasu Abdulaziz, shot while resisting eviction from his
settlement in Nigeria.

On 19 December, the Mayfair and Soho Group will be remembering by name these and hundreds of other people who have suffered violence, imprisonment and other human rights abuses. There will also be original writing from members of the Human Rights Creative Writers Group.

Please sponsor us generously for the number of names we read, so that Amnesty can continue its vital campaigns to ensure that everyone can enjoy their rights under the Universal Declaration.

You can also join us at the event itself:
