Story

In January 2020, we found out that my dad had cancer, both in his oesophagus and bones. Over the subsequent two months, we watched as his condition rapidly deteriorated. Throughout this time, both Marie Curie and Macmillan  were unbelievable. The support and advice they provided us, alongside just general human kindness made everything that little bit easier.

On 13th March 2020, my dad sadly passed away. Marie Curie and Macmillan enabled him to be at home, with my mum, brother and I right beside him till the end. They helped us care for him during those final few weeks, and continued their support even as the pandemic lockdown began.

This year’s sportive is the Loch Ness Etape and I’m riding for Macmillan this time. Slightly less challenging at 65miles, but still a great cause!
