Story
As I've gotten older, I've become more in tune with life, I seem wiser and more educated in health, however with that I seem to witness more heartache and hurt.
I look back a few years ago and how naive I was, to think that 'it won't happen to me or us' But it could, and it does. There are 200 different types of cancer and 1 in 2 people in the UK will get the disease in their life. Most will be cured.
Its not just the patient who suffers, the family too.
In my 25 years of life, I have witnessed 5 family members battle cancer with 2 surviving. I have witnessed people I went to school and work with, battle. I have help my friends deal with their relatives struggles. Lets be honest, we are all no stranger to Cancer. I will never forget the strength and courage all these people have/had, a true inspiration and it makes me so happy and honoured to have known so many inspirational people. We owe it too all our loved ones....We HAVE to continue our fight until we have the cure!!
I am running the Great Manchester Run, Half Marathon on 20th May 2018 to raise money for Cancer Research. I have never run a marathon before, however I am SO excited to raise as much as I can, to help others be survivors and win their battles, and to enable families a lifeline of more time with loved ones.
LETS HELP BEAT IT SOONER
