Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

I was suffering from jetlag in Mexico when my sister, Eve, rang me to suggest we run the London marathon...I agreed, despite hating running. I blame the jetlag and the Tequila for this foolish decision!

In order to make all the pain worthwhile we are running for a charity close to our hearts. You may or may not know that Eve and I have an older sister, Emma. Emma was born partially sighted in one eye and blind in the other. About 10 years ago she was diagnosed with a brain tumour; the result of this is that she is now blind in both eyes. Emma is amazing and adapts brilliantly. She also works way too hard and was recognised for this with an MBE from the Queen for services to the blind and Royal Mail.

The RNIB do fantastic work helping people with services and tools which support their lives. Please dig deep and make my agony worth it.

Also, feel free to come and watch...I guarantee some comedy running.
