Well it's nearly time for the big day with a little over a week to go and i think this training lark has been a success. When I signed up for this madness 3 months ago I'd lost 30lbs and come to a standstill, I've now lost an additional 18.5 lbs (3st6.5lbs total now!!) and I *think* I'm just about fit enough to finish the L2B in a respectable time next weekend. Nerves have kicked in, we all just need to pray I don't fall off my bike again and make it unscathed to the finish line. Let the 'carb loading' junk food for the next 9 days begin...
Shout out to my work colleagues for putting up with me filling the office with bikes & associated clutter and listening to me whinge about my minor injuries far more than they ever warrant.
Also shout out to my teammate Darryn for letting me accompany on training rides despite the fact that I constantly go on and on about how much my legs ache from about 5 minutes in and relentlessly say that I'm going to turn around and go home. This should be a lesson to everybody not to sign up for anything with me.

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Last year I made the decision that it was time to change my life, get active and shift a bit of podge. I lost 30lbs so far and still to go I've come to a monumental standstill. Therefore, I've decided to team up with one of my work colleagues and complete the London to Brighton as a kick up the bum to get myself back on track. Not only is this a big personal challenge for me both mentally and physically (I'm lacking in both willpower and athleticism at this point!) but I hope to raise money for a very worthy cause.
If you have a couple of £s to spare please do sponsor this great cause (and also keep me accountable to the ridiculous decisions I make in signing up to these things!)
