I'm running part of triathlon relay on behalf of Level 20 with my fellow Committee member Charlotte Salasky and Iron Man in Venture Capital Ivan Shyr to support Impetus-PEF's work transforming disadvantaged children & young people's lives in the UK.
Level 20 is a not for profit organization that aims to inspire women to join and succeed in private equity and deliver greater representation for women at all levels of the industry.
In 2015 women comprise around 5% of professionals employed in senior roles in the European private equity industry. In addition, fewer women than men enter the private equity industry and only a small proportion progress to take on leadership roles. We believe that increased participation by women in the private equity industry, especially in leadership positions, will lead to not only sustaining but also improving investment performance. http://www.level20.org/
Impetus-PEF transforms the lives of disadvantaged young people by ensuring they get the support they need to succeed in education, find and keep jobs and achieve their potential.
Impetus-PEF identifies the most promising charities and social enterprises that work with these young people and helps them to become highly effective organisations that transform lives; it then helps them expand significantly so as to dramatically increase the number of young people they serve.
Impetus-PEF works with over 20 charity partners and through their programmes, they support over 80,000 young people, including;
- 36,000 to attain 5 A*-C GCSEs or enter into a high-quality university
- 16,000 to prepare for, find a job and keep it
- 35,000 to develop the skills to succeed in school, in work and in life
