Mercy Ships mission is to bring hope and healing to the poor , completing amazing surgeries especially Maxillofacial, orthopedic and plastic that transform the lives of people who can't afford medical treatment. Mercy Ships typically stays in a port in an African country for 9 months,  the African Mercy is currently in Dakar, Senegal. It is the world's largest hospital ship and is largely staffed by volunteers coming from over 40 different countries. 

I am working on board working in the ship's HR department as a HR Facilitator on  volunteer basis , having  finished paid work to do this. It is fantastic to hear about the amazing surgeries that are done and how lives are transformed. Due to COVID non clinical staff can't easily mix with patients but I have been able to on a limited scale.
