Event: Kilimanjaro Trek 2023 - Amnesty International UK, from 27 August 2023 to 6 September 2023
A team of students at the University of Cardiff will be raising money for Amnesty International and preparing to trek Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, in 2023.

Story

Hi everyone !!!

I’m a first year student at the University of Cardiff and this year I’ve taken the decision to climb the mount kilimanjaro in order to raise money for Amnesty International. The mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.

Amnesty International is a movement of ordinary people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights aiming to protect individuals wherever justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied.

Their work protects and empowers people, from abolishing the death penalty to protecting sexual and reproductive rights, and from combatting discrimination to defending refugees and migrants’ rights.

Over the last year, almost seven million Amnesty International supporters have taken action by protesting, writing, petitioning and much more in order to defend and advance human rights everywhere. People who have been unfairly imprisoned have been released, laws have been changed and brave people around the world have stood up and taken action!

Any donation, small or big is always appreciated and will help to protect the rights of humans across the world!

Thank you :)
