Story
I am taking on the challenge of the 2012 Great North Run in memory of my close friend Dan Appleby who was sadly taken by Leukaemia in May of this year. Dan was only 24 years of age, loving life in Dubai, doing what he always wanted to do within the construction industry and had a great future ahead of him. Dan with whom I shared a flat in Newcastle upon Tyne, whilst we were at University together loved being active and we undertook our first Great North Run together in 2009, so it seems a fitting event to raise as much money as possible for Leukaemia Research
His untimely death was a terrible shock and tragedy to us all and as a result of this I wish to raise as much money as possible not only in Dan’s memory but also so that the donations that I hope to receive will help to provide research into this awful illness and if I can make a contribution in this small way it will be so worthwhile.
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Their life-saving research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running ground-breaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.
Please give what you can, it will make a real difference
Thanks again
