Story
George Starling was a wonderful young man and my friend. We met whilst at King Alfred's Sixth Form in Wantage together, where we were placed in the same tutor group. We parted ways after sixth form, him going to Cambridge University and myself going to Oxford Brookes, but it still pained me deeply (and it still does) to have lost him. George took his own life in the October of 2010, during his second year at university. More about the circumstances of his death may be found here.
In memory of George I am joining the George Starling Memorial Fun Run as organised by our schoolmate Angus De Wilton, a route of approximately 7.5km (4.6 miles) which he and George used to run together. I am raising money for Mind, a charity which aims to support people suffering from mental health issues.
