Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was interested in this event as it's a new challenge for me, and entered it a few months ago. I've done previous 100 miler rides before and go out regularly out on my bike, but nothing with this sort of distance in this time frame.
I am raising money for 'Mesothelioma UK' which is a form of lung cancer which is very rare and unfortunately incurable.
As some of you know my father in law was diagnosed in April 2013 with this terrible illness, and until then myself my wife Emily and the family had never even heard of Mesothelioma..... we now know a lot.
It's a rare but aggressive cancer with limited treatment, where patients may survive several months after being diagnosed.
Very Very sadly 'Rob' my father in law lost his battle to mesothelioma on Tuesday 22nd April 2014 after a year long hard fight, in which he went through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, various operations including 2 stents.
I will be raising money for 'Mesothelioma UK' to help raise awareness and to help fund new treatments.
