Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
10 years ago my mum, Dorothy, died from leukaemia. Then, three years ago my brother, Chris, was given a 20% chance of surviving a rare lymphoma. The fact that he has survived is thanks to the support of his family, the dedication of his doctors and the huge progress made in developing cures for blood cancer. Bloodwise is one of the charities that does really important work in this area. You can find out more about what they do here - https://bloodwise.org.uk/what-we-do.
I like to think that if she were diagnosed today, my mum would have had a very different outcome. And I thought it was time I did something to support a charity that is helping make that a reality for others.
So I'm swimming 5k open water both in memory of mum, in awe of my brother and in an effort to help people with blood cancers get a second chance.
Every little bit you are able to give will help that. It's hugely appreciated.
Thanks
Andy
