The London Marathon organisers recently announced that this year alongside the live marathon they are now launching 50,000 places for a virtual event. As a charity, St Luke's Hospice have been successful in securing places in the Virtual London Marathon this year, taking place on 3rd October 2021. Whilst a virtual run enables me to run the route I choose, I prefer to run with a team of St Luke's runners, plan our own marathon route and try to recreate a mini version of the day with supporters on route cheering us on (subject to any government guidelines). We know this kind of support can be a godsend to help us get through a mammoth run like this.
