London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

Many of you are aware that on the 14th February 2017 I was 50.  The last 12 months has seen me complete a number of items on my bucket list. The good news is that to date I have managed to raise through the fantastic support from all of you over £4000 for Cancer Research UK.

For those of you who may have forgotten,  50@50 is a programme of 50  events and activities to raise money for a charity that is close to my heart, Cancer Research UK. Many of you will know that my wonderful wife, Julie, was diagnosed in her 40’s with Breast Cancer, she fought it and is a testimony to the fantastic progress and research that has occurred to allow her to fight and live beyond a cancer diagnosis. Last year It was  10 years since she was diagnosed ( April 7th 2007, to be precise) so this was a celebration of fighting cancer and beating it. I wanted to make a difference and I hope in the remainder of my lifetime massive progress continues and we get nearer to a cure for cancer and importantly a prevention,  and understand this disease that effects so many people in the world today.

Unfortunately I did not manage to complete all the 50 for various logistical reasons and plan to finish them off in the years ahead and I will keep my just giving page open for any donations
