Andrew Cooke is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support
In memory of Emily Parker
At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

In 2014 my son, Will, and I walked round the Isle of Wight raising £3,000 for Beating Bowel Cancer after my sister, Louise, had been given the all clear from colon cancer but her daughter, Emily had just been diagnosed with the disease.

Sadly Emily lost her battle to cancer before Christmas last year leaving behind her 10 year old son, Henry and husband, Chris. She was the bravest person I knew and never once complained and remained positive until the end.

My Mum also passed away from cancer last year and MacMillan provided fantastic support both to her and Emily in their last weeks.

So now, in honour of Emily, I'm walking the 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela in around five weeks starting in mid April.  Louise and my sons Will and Ben will join me to walk for a week in the middle of the trip with back-up support provided by sister Vicky and her partner Rob.

I would love to beat the £3,000 I raised previously and any donation, no matter how small would be very welcome.
