Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Andy - Another cycling challenge and this the toughest yet by far - not so long ago I struggled to cycle even 5 miles without having to stop to regain my breath.. Now I will be covering around 250 miles over 3 consecutive days along with 30 colleagues from M&S Bank.

I have already begun to increase the training (photo from a miserable wet Sunday morning as I covered 90 miles before lunch time).. This could/should have been my turn for a nice Sunday lie in with the papers!

Alec is taking the time to now commute by bike more regularly which a challenge in itself when you live 35 miles away from your place of work!

Day 1 is especially tough climbing around 5500 feet (that's over 1.5 times the height of Snowdonia!!) This will no doubt sap the energy for days 2 and 3 and then finishing with a tough climb once we get close to Brussels.

Our group are aiming to raise over £25k which to put into perspective would fund a care worker for 6 months - not just offering medical & emotional support to the person suffering but also much needed support for the family and friends.

It goes without saying what a wonderful and worthwhile cause Macmillan Cancer Support is. Please give whatever you can manage and I will be hugely appreciative!

Many Thanks,

Andrew and Alec
