Walk for Waste · 16 July 2016 ·

1 in 3 people globally do not have a waste management service and have no option but to burn or dump their waste, much of it ending up in the oceans. We share waste management and recycling skills that help people to help themselves from poverty, improve public health, and protect the environment

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July I'll be climbing Snowdon with lots of other waste professionals to raise money for Waste Aid UK. They are helping communities and governments manage their waste properly, which is vital if we are to achieve 11 of the 17 the Sustainable Development Goals. Waste management has a powerful and positive impact on people’s well-being.

To make the 10 mile ascent (and descent) even more challenging, I will be taking a wheelie bin full of recycling with me, on my back. Hopefully adding to the challenge will inspire people to support Waste Aid UK.

Anyone who does want to sponsor me can have their own message on the wheelie bin, with a picture at the top of the mountain when I get there. So you can get some bang for your buck, on top of knowing that it will help communities deal with their waste in a safe, local and inspiring way.
