Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Not done any fundraising events for a few years, as always thought it cheeky to keep asking people for donations, despite knowing what a generous bunch of people I know. Plus, never really had strong enough reason to do so.

But after one of the most challenging starts to a year I can remember, both professionally and personally - this was exacerbated by the passing of a truly wonderful man - my (common law) Father-in-law Sam Spruce, on March 17th.

Sam was one of the most generous, easy-going and intelligent people I have ever met - he had a great love of country music. But one thing that stands head and shoulders above anything was his love of the animal kingdom and his hatred of animal cruelty of any kind. He had numerous dogs throughout his life and was a very willing dog-sitter for his furry grandchildren when called upon. This meant that none of our furry kids ever went without unconditional love and endless treats whenever they were with him - even making them a sneaky bacon butty - despite being told not to ;-)

One of his wishes was to leave some of the donations from his funeral to the Dogs Trust. So - with myself being a dog lover, a keen cyclist (albeit somewhat out of practice) and myself and Karen already being sponsors of Dogs Trust dogs, I have decided to pick up the training a notch and enter the Prudential London-Surrey 100 and raise some much needed funds for the Dogs Trust and try and push the donations up to the MAX in honour of Sam and the great work Dogs Trust do.

This is a fantastic charity that does amazing work rescuing, caring for and re-homing stray, abandoned and abused dogs. So I ask all of my generous family, friends and acquaintances to please sponsor me as much as you can afford - no amount is too low.

So there we go - I have nailed my sail to the mast and I suppose I need to pick up the training now and do you all proud!

Thank you all in advance for any support you can give, not simply donations, but wishes and encouragement too.

Love to you all

Andy
