London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

In my role as a police officer and a reservist I regularly see the effect that mental health has on ex servicemen and women. Whether it be addictions, debt, homelessness or anger management. I am running the London marathon to raise awareness of this issue and to raise money for combat stress who provide support to those who need it.

Those of you who know me will know this is a big challenge. My running experience consists of a  1.5 mile fitness test each year, so way off 26 miles!  Not to mention changing my diet and dramatically reducing my alcohol intake! Please help keep me motivated by sponsoring me.

For some former servicemen and women, the mental impact of the battlefield can be hard to leave behind. Combat Stress are there for those ordinary people who have had extraordinary experiences, providing mental health treatment that not only transforms lives but saves them too.

£21 could fund their 24 hour helpline for one hour.
