Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to be running 4, possibly 5 events for Sense. First the Brighton Half Marathon, followed by the Maidstone Half Marathon. 2 weeks later I will run the Kingston Breakfast Run (a 20 mile race), and then 30 days after that it's the big one - the London Marathon.

I grew up with two profoundly deaf parents so I know first hand how hard it is for those who have the loss of just one sense. Not just at home but also trying to fit into the community. The thought of not being able to hear or see is horrendous to many of us but to think about losing both of those senses is unimaginable.

I would like to raise awareness for those people who are deaf blind, as well as raising funds to try and ensure we help as many people as we can.

Genuinely every donation, no matter how small, will add up to make a great difference. Don't forget - any donation you make via this page goes directly to the charity where they can put it to good use.

Thank you in advance.
