Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Hello,
My name is Angie Shipley and I have the absolute pleasure of working at Keech palliative care centre (KPCC ) which is part of Keech Hospice Care, Luton.
A few years ago, I sustained a back injury and I had to undergo a 9 hour operation to have a disc removed from my cervical spine. During this time, my Keech family were very supportive of me.
When I returned to work (walking independently I might add..😉) I heard about the Transylvania Trek and thought.....I can do that!!
I was aware of previous treks to amazing places like China and India but the thoughts of visiting Bran Castle...........the home of no other than "Count Dracula" himself!!!!! It sealed the deal forme and I signed on the dotted line🤗🤗🤗
Keech and particularly KPCC is very close to my heart. I believe in good palliative care and thats what you get at Keech Hospice Care. The rounded holistic multidisciplinary approach to help people who are approaching end of life and supporting their families also.
I feel very passionate about the importance of palliative care, helping people to live well within the confines and restrictions of their illness. It gives me a great sense of pride in my work and in my place of work that we can provide such specialist care.
In my job, I am priveledged to meet such amazing people facing end of life and I am constantly humbled by the strength and trust of the people I meet at Keech, just to play a small part in helping them at such a time gives me an enormous sense of pride.
As Keech is only partially funded by the NHS, this is a fantastic opportunity for me to raise much needed funds in order that the charity can continue to provide such amazing holistic care.
So folks, any donations great or small would be very gratefully received and much appreciated.
With kind regards and many thanks in advance
Angie 😘😘😘
