Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It seemed like a good idea to Steve and I last September when we were challenged to run on behalf of Team PSA ( look up Just Giving Team PSA ) ! And it most definitely is ! Training time six months , perfect ! Give up smoking and run a half marathon ! Couldn't think of a better way to spend an English winter . Oh the joy of that first attempt !! I have done a few long walks and treks. But running involves lifting the body weight off the ground. Very challenging. And in public too! The freezing early mornings around a lake  .... I hadn't seen 7am from an early morning perspective for sometime ... "A whole new world .... a new fantastic point of view ". So all good . That is until my right leg went elsewhere whilst I made my first attempt at waterskiing . Since then I have been very compromised . The show will go on however and I will do my best to complete the 13 miles . The money raised from your support of my efforts on this page will go to St Richard's Hospice . The people involved with St. Richard's are very special and very dear to me , they have been my life here in Worcester and I am very grateful to everyone. My Mother died a most dreadful and harrowing death from lung cancer last July . A salutory experience to witness. I know that the people of Worcestershire have the extensive services of St. Richard's to help them through life's realities . I wish that our family had had access to support in our parents home town .Our big family only served to multiply the grief and feelings of helplessness . Another lesson learned . My sister Jo completed The Great North Run for our Mum.  I will complete this in an attempt to deepen my resolve to look after myself and appreciate the gift of life and all the lovely people that I share it with . Big hugs and lots of love x Perhaps the Magic Carpet will turn up on the day x
