Angie Cavallari & I have known each other for 30 years. She was also my companion for the whole #28TooManyWheelchairMarathon in 2018.
Now we've achieved our biggest challenge ever.... a 26 mile walking marathon on 3 October - achieved in 8.5 hours of the allowed 23 hrs & 59 mins for prized London Marathon medals!
As a patient at North London Hospice, I'm doing this in memory of my many hospice friends who have gone before me, whilst I still can.
As a director of a charity myself, I know that 2020 was a really tough year for charities. As such, I wanted to complete a London Marathon on foot which I never thought would be able to do (hence the wheelchair marathon I completed in 2018). I was in training 4 x a week from 21st May over 19 weeks , after 8 months of static bike cycling. 5 stars came & walked with me to help me train; 6 joined us in London on the day, & we love the 130+ who have sponsored Angie & I in our crazy pursuit!
