Story
Hi Guys! I've decided to take on the exciting challenge of doing a week long trek in the High Atlas Mountains next year in June in support of the charity, Mind - the largest mental health charity in the UK.
As a group of roughly twenty university students, we will be taking on a six day trek, while trying to cover as much of the High Atlas Mountains as we can. During the trek we will be camping out, eating local food, learning about local customs, traditions, the people, the language and hopefully be immersing ourselves as much as we can in the moroccan culture, while teaching them about our backgrounds too.
The charity Mind is something very close to me. Mental health awareness is not only something I have learnt about from school talks and charities but from people around me, such as friends and family who have faced mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and stress-related health issues. Mental health problems are on the rise - one in four people admit to having a mental health problem in the UK alone. This is something that must be addressed and taken seriously, we need to support those who need the support and eradicate the stigma around not talking about mental health.
With your help I hope to achieve taking on this challenge and fundraising for Mind. Please help me reach my target if you can!
