Story
In October 2020 during the height of the pandemic, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then I have undergone 7 rounds of chemotherapy, a mastectomy and reconstruction and I can now, luckily, call myself a survivor.
Breast Cancer Now has, and continues to be, an amazing resource for me. Their ‘Someone Like Me’ service has introduced me to some phenomenal women who have shared their warrior stories with me in support of my own journey! It’s now my time to give something back.
On Friday 22 October between 9.00am - 5.00pm, I'll be Turning Furzy Pink with a fundraising event at Furzy Paws in Furzedown, Tooting. There will be cakes, pink of course, face painting, henna tattoos, singing, storytelling and a raffle full of pink goodies. Plus a Silent Auction with some amazing items to bid on including pamper packages, meals out, holiday camp offers, fitness packages, nutritional sessions and much, much more.
If you fancy putting in a bid or two please head over to: https://app.galabid.com/turningfurzypink/items
For more information about the whole event please contact me at turningfurzedownpink@gmail.com
For those of you who can’t make it on the day please feel free to donate here as every penny really does help.
Thank you 💖
Breast Cancer Now's wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place on 22 October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or workplaces, to help make life-changing research and care happen. Over the past year, people have been diagnosed with the disease at a time when everything from treatment to screenings have been disrupted. This has only made us more determined to make sure we're there to provide support for now and hope for the future. Join me on Friday 22 October, and wear it pink for all those affected by breast cancer. Thank you!
