Story
The Red Cross is one of the big charities working to help people affected by the Syria Crisis. But what I especially love about the Red Cross is that they treat any crisis as just that - a crisis. Whether it's the floods that affected huge numbers of people across Britain, or the loneliness of an isolated person, or the hunger and desperation of the people of war-torn countries. This is a charity that views people as people and need as need, no matter where they are or what the crisis, and I think it's a brave mission to strive to help in any and all circumstances without judgement or prejudice. If any charity can help you see the good in the world, it's this one.
It's a short month, so please help me spread the word and get as much support for this fantastic charity as possible. Subscribe to the blog, share on Facebook and use the #12ActsofKindness hashtag on Twitter! Help me fall back in love with the world : )
Most of all, though - if you're able - make a contribution here. And for every £2 you give, you'll be in with a chance of winning an original art work by me as a thank you.
If you're new to what I'm doing as 12 Acts of Kindness, here's the lowdown. Each month I will be fundraising for a different charity, which I will feature on my blog and here on Just Giving. In exchange for your donations, I will be giving away an art work.
Here's how it works:
- For each £2 donated, you will be entered once into a draw to win an art work - so donate £10 and you'll get five entries.
- At the end of the month, I'll draw a name and get in touch with the winner to arrange delivery*.
- And on my part, I will ensure that the art work you win will be of greater value than the total value of the amount donated. So if we raise £500, the art work on offer will be of a value of over £500.
- When you are completing your donation, please make sure that you tick the box to share your contact details with me so that I can get in touch with you if you win!
Please, please, please share this with your contacts and via your social media networks - I would love for this to be a massive success. In a world with a lot of cruelty and suffering, I really do think it's these small acts of kindness that can and will make a difference.
Thank you!
* Delivery limited to Mainland UK unless otherwise agreed. Please allow 12 weeks from the end of the fundraiser for delivery
