Brownsea Island Swim · 15 September 2019

The Turning Point Trust is a fantastic charity working with street-children and their families in Kibera slum, Kenya. We believe in working to meet the needs of individual children and supporting people to become the instigators of their own success.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Inspired by the Turning Point Trust story about children having to share pencils and crayons in the classroom, Chobham and Horsell Girl Guides collected items of unwanted stationary to send out to Turning Point Trust in the form of special pencil case. Each pencil case had all the essentials in, and we managed to send 53. Not only are these helping with education but also bringing great joy to those children. We called it Project Pencil case!

In completing this challenging 3.5 km swim - half way round Brownsea Island - where Lord Baden Powell founded the Scouting movement,  we hope to raise valuable funds for the Turning Point Trust, and make a difference to more children living in the slums of Kibera.
