Although I wasn't around when Hospice at Home provided my family with support during my Uncle Richard's illness I was brought up by my Gran to learn of the importance of how a local charity can provide care and support to the surrounding community.
After the charity had provided so much support for my family my Gran herself decided to help the charity in becoming a trustee.
Following my Gran's passing me and other members of the family have decided to raise money for the charity in hers and Richard's honour.
This year me and my two younger cousins will be running the Great North Run in memory of Richard & Mary Jeffery. Any donations no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated not only by Hospice at Home, but our family who continue to support Hospice at Home 23 years on.
