What:  My Sister and I are doing a night climb of Snowdon in order to raise much needed funds for the Cornwall Air AmbulanceTrust. A charity close to our hearts which does not recieve any government funding and relies totally on charitable donations.

Why:  On 6th July 2021 what started out as a fabulous horse ride, with my Sister, along Perranporth beach, ended up with myself being air lifted to hospital by the amazing Cornwall Air Ambulance team. I suffered multiple pelvic and shoulder fractures and dislocations in a fall from the horse | was riding.

By having the medics on the Air Ambulance at my side within minutes I received vital medications and immobilisation of my pelvis to limit the internal bleeding and therefore, help save my life.

Without the Cornwall Air Ambulance team being there and getting me to hospital in such quick time, my recovery could have been a very different story. My Consultant later told me I was very lucky and that time is crucial with such injuries, as blood loss from pelvic fractures, such as I had sustained, can be fatal. I spent 7 weeks in hospital before being able to go home to continue my recovery.
