Story

**skydive has been postponed until whenever corona is over**

On 12th June 2019 we would’ve been celebrating my Dads 51st birthday. He always wanted to do a skydive so I will be doing it for him in his memory. Anyone who has lost someone close to them will know that anniversaries and birthdays can be particularly difficult times. This year I want to celebrate my Dads birthday and raise money to help others.

In 2005 my Dad was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. This was removed but left him with a life changing brain injury. Physically he had a large area of skull missing, lost a quarter of his vision, had weakness down his left side, would tire easily and was adversely affected by crowded places and neon lighting. He had difficulty concentrating and was not permitted to drive. The accumulation of these issues resulted in him being unable to continue his career as a graphic designer. He worked hard to overcome these difficulties and aimed to live the best life he could. Throughout this he continued to be the best Dad I could have asked for. Sadly he died in November 2015.

Headway Preston and Chorley is a local charity who provide invaluable help to lots of people and their families living with brain injury. They rely on donations in order to continue to deliver this service. Every brain injury is different in the way it affects the individual and often people may struggle with hidden difficulties. Headway Preston and Chorley provide social, practical and emotional guidance and support.

My Dad used to volunteer for Headway Preston and Chorley as he wanted to help other people through his own experience. Their social occasions are always upbeat and friendly providing a much needed service.

My family remains so grateful for the help we received from Headway Preston and Chorley and we would like other families to be able to benefit in the way that we did.

I would be so grateful for any donations as the thought of doing a skydive is terrifying. All money donated will go to Headway Preston and Chorley as my family have funded the skydive.
