Story
Hello everybody - thank you for taking a moment to visit my page!
As many of you may know, I am the father of two gorgeous children - Isabelle and Jack - who were born on December 12 2015.
It should have been the most amazing day of my life but it was one of the worst - they arrived 3 months premature.
Born at 2lb 7oz and 3lb, they were tiny and needed expert help to stand any chance of survival having been born way too early.
Thankfully, the Leicester Royal Infirmary Neonatal Unit stepped in the moment they were born and saved their lives.
The staff went above and beyond their duties for the 11 weeks that we were on the unit, saving both our children's lives and giving us the chance to be a family - something that we came so close to not having.
Premature birth is a lot more common than you may think and the staff at the LRI Neonatal Unit work wonders, saving the lives of babies who in reality have little chance of surviving.
I want to say a huge thank you to them and also raise money so that other families can benefit from the incredible service that the staff and unit provide.
To do that I have booked on to do 4 10km runs in as many weekends - not so tough for so - a real challenge for me!
I have only run one 10km previously and it took a week to recover!
I have booked on to (at my own expense) the Cannock Chase 10km on August 7, Draycote Water 10km on August 14, the Birchwood 10km on August 21 and the Badgers 10km on August 28.
Training is underway and I would be so grateful if you could spare a few quid to help this incredible cause keep up its world class work.
Thank you for again for taking the time to read this :)
