Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. I will be taking to the skies to overcome my fear of heights and falling, by taking part in a Tandem Skydive from 10,000' feet above the ground and hopefully raising lots of money for the RAFBF in the process.
The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAFs leading welfare charity, providing a spectrum of care, supporting everyone from children growing up on RAF stations, to those serving today to keep our skies safe, to the veterans who fought for our freedom as well as their partners and dependent children.
Having benefited personally from a respite break, during a sustained period of ill health that my wife was suffering from. I can personnally say that the work that the RAFBF does, really does make a huge difference to peoples lives.
Some of the Funds goals are to maintain and preserve the RAF Memorial in London on behalf of the nation, to provide assistance to the RAF family, when they are in need, support the morale and wellbeing of the serving RAF and looking after then newley erected Bomber Command Memorial in central London.
The above are just some of the things that the RAF Benevolent Fund do for members of the Wider RAF Community and they rely soley on fundraising and public donations, as an independent charity they recieve no government funding.
As Winston Churchill once said "The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund is part of the conscience of the British nation. A nation without a conscience is a nation without a soul. A nation without a soul is a nation that cannot live."
