Story
Having never run a marathon before, I’ve decided to push myself far beyond my comfort zone in 2026 by taking on not just one, but two marathons:- London first, followed by Edinburgh. With that challenge in mind, I’ve opened a second fundraising page for the Edinburgh Marathon to raise as much money as possible for two incredible kidney cancer charities. This page is dedicated to Action Kidney Cancer.
I’m taking on these extreme challenges not just for the miles, but for awareness. Kidney cancer is something that has become very personal to me, as someone close to my heart has recently been diagnosed. Running these marathons is my way of giving back, raising awareness, and doing whatever I can to support a cause that means so much and to make them proud.
Training has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’ll be honest there are definitely days I feel weak, exhausted, emotional, and defeated. My body aches, my mind tells me to stop, and I question whether I’m strong enough to keep going. But in those moments, I think of the strength it takes to face cancer, and my doubts feel small in comparison.
Every mile I run is for those fighting, those supporting, and those who don’t get the choice to stop when things get hard. If my pain, tiredness, and perseverance can help raise even a little money or awareness, then it will always be worth it.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting, donating, and believing in this cause and in me. 🩷
