Aparna Gupta

Debbie Gupta is raising money for Alzheimer's Society
In memory of Aparna Gupta
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Aparna Gupta passed away on Tuesday 14 March.

These last few years have been incredibly difficult for my dad and I. She became progressively unwell with Alzheimer's - and we lost the wife/mum we knew her to be.

It was heartbreaking to see this formidable woman - described so aptly by someone as "aggressively alive" - evolve into someone unrecognisable at the end.

We like to think that she has given us a fantastic parting gift - a reason to reconnect with those who loved her and be reminded of the wonderful woman she once was.

In her honour, we're making a donation to the Alzheimer's Society. Please feel free to do the same. And perhaps others, one day, will be spared the grief and sadness we feel in having lost her not once, but twice.
