Armando-GM at Coombe Lodge - South London Whitbread Restaurants Travel to Gosh · 28 April 2020

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

The South London Whitbread Restaurants Region have decided to Travel around the Region all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Each Site will have set up their own Just Giving Page to raise funds via their own business. Each GM (Plus our Regional Boss Kelly) will Walk, Run or Cycle their share of the Distance (10 miles each) to cover the total miles it would take, to travel via each site, before finishing at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

The Distance we need to cover to successfully travel via each site and end up at Great Ormond Street Hospital between us, is 150 miles!

We will be doing this exercise over the month of May 2019, individually recording our distance traveled via tracking apps. Each manager will need to travel a distance of 10 miles, by either Walking, Running or Cycling.

Each Manager will record their Miles traveled using there chosen tracking app, saving a screen shot of proof, showing the daily exercise to tick off their share of the distance.

We want to raise as much as possible for GOSH, as this charity means so much to us, as a company we have a long history of supporting them. Now, is no different and we want to ensure we continue to raise these valuable funds.

Whitbread has supported GOSH Charity as its national charity partner since 2012. Premier Inn & Restaurants team members, guests and suppliers across the country raised £7.5 million towards the Premier Inn Clinical Building, a seven-floor facility with spacious inpatient wards and state-of-the-art operating theatres, which was officially opened in January 2018.

In 2017 Whitbread committed to continue the partnership with GOSH Charity and raise a further £10 million towards a new Sight and Sound Centre at the Hospital.

When it opens in 2020 the new centre will be the UK’s first dedicated medical facility for children with sight and hearing loss. In one dedicated building, the centre will house specialist outpatient facilities for the Audiology and Ophthalmology departments including state-of-the-art soundproofed booths, an eye imaging suite, a dispensing optician and other testing facilities.
