UPDATE
As can happen with life, my challenge hasn't gone quite to plan. Inverness is DONE (1hr 48) & Glasgow is DONE (1hr 48) but a bout of the shingles meant pulling out of Aberdeen.
To keep up my side of the deal I've signed up for Barcelona Marathon next year which is giving me the fear already. Aviemore Half in two weeks time then the hard work will really need to begin......

I've never raised money for charity before like this as I always think you have to do something pretty outstanding to justify people giving you their hard-earned cash for your efforts. However I've decided it's time to give it a go...
Before May last year I had never run the length of myself, but having now done my first 10K - and faster than I ever thought I could - I've signed up for my first half marathon in Inverness in March, the Great Aberdeen Half in August, Glasgow in September and Aviemore in October. I might not be jumping out of a plane or running a marathon in one go, but to go from running none to running four in a year is something I would have never, ever, ever have contemplated before now.
To keep training I'll need something to keep me focused, so no better way than to raise money for charity. No pressure but if anyone would like to spare a couple of quid to boost my total I would be most grateful.
Thanks to my previous job I was lucky enough to meet the little girl Kayleigh's Wee Stars is named after before she sadly died, and to know that the charity her mum and dad set up in her memory has now raised near half a million pounds is incredible. There are numerous other worthy charities I could raise money for which are connected to my own family, however it's a no brainer to help a family fit in as many happy memories as possible into the short time they have left together. I still think about Kayleigh and always told myself I would help in some way.
Plea over - thank you very, very much in advance…
Ashleigh
