As many of you know, this topic is so near to my heart after traveling worldwide and seeing the impact that life without access to water has on communities from the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India to the rural flatlands of Eastern Namibia - particularly the impact to young women and girls - who are pulled out of school at a young age and given the burden of walking hours a day to bring water for their families. This impacts their education, their future, their personal hygiene and health, and their ability to break out of the cycle of poverty.
