FRANCE END TO END VIA MOUNT VENTOUX · 23 September 2023

Zoë's Place provides 24-hour palliative, respite and end-of-life care to infants aged 0-5 years with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. We provide short-term regular care with our dedicated nursing staff, in a home from home environment to give parents and carers a well deserved break.

Story

Following my Land's End-John O'Groats cycle ride in 2021 to raise much needed funds for Zoe's Place, I've felt the need to push myself again for this beautiful cause and am aiming to tackle something even more challenging.

France End to End covers 900 miles over 14 days and many of my past supporters will know that last year was similar. So I personally feel I need to earn the support by attempting something I'm not capable of doing at the time I decide to do it.

On day eleven I will be attempting to cycle up to the summit of Mount Ventoux, nicknamed the 'Beast Of Provence" or "Giant of Provence" which is often used as a stern test in the Tour de France.  - a climb lasting 13.5 miles (21.8km) up to 6,623 feet.

British cyclist Tom Simpson died on the mountain on 13 July 1967 from heat exhaustion during the Tour de France.

He was racing , I will be taking it far slower and will be lumbering uphill non stop for possibly 3 hours.
Please consider donating to my page to help raise vital funds for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice and help put some joy into the lives of these wonderful children and their families.
