We raise funds for all wards and departments at Milton Keynes University Hospital, enhancing the experience of patients, their families and staff. All the money raised funds items over and above NHS provision. By supporting us you can make a real difference to local people when they need it most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Suzanne Blackmore and Dan Butler are running in the Milton Keynes 10K on March 10th in order to raise money for the Baby Bereavement Fund at Milton Keynes Hospital.

On 27th October 2012 our beautiful baby girl, Hope, was stillborn at 21 weeks.  She had a very rare combination of structural abnormalities affecting her brain.  We were incredibly well looked after in the Butterfly Suite at the hospital and nothing was too much trouble for our wonderful midwife whilst I was in labour.  We were able to spend as long as we wanted with our little girl and our families were able to come and meet her; those precious cuddles will stay with us all forever.

We would like to raise money for the Baby Bereavement Fund because of the amazing support we received the day that baby Hope was born.  The wonderful care has continued from our Bereavement midwife, Tracy Rea and we would like to show our appreciation.  As well as our photographs, Tracy was able to make beautiful foot casts and footprints, which we will be able to treasure forever.  We feel that it is really important for anyone in our situation to have the same level of care and attention to detail.

Baby Hope was due on 9th March 2013, the day before Mothers Day (which also happens to be the day of the run) so we felt it would be a good idea to do something special that weekend.

Our target is £355.00 because baby Hope weighed just 355g - we have already raised £155.00, so a big ‘Thank You’ to anyone who has donated money already!
