BalatonBros: 5 marathons in 4 days · 18 September 2017

Movember has built a global men’s health movement, funding over 1,300 projects, changing the way health services reach and support men. Movember is taking on 3 of the biggest issues facing men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide. Movember is for everyone, not just for men.

Story

Lake Balaton is the largest lake in central Europe.  It's 194.2 km in circumference, and the two of us have decided this is something we wanted to run around in 4 consecutive days this September.

We don't like running and training is quickly revealing that we both have dodgy knees. We also have a combined total of zero marathons under our belts. And so the prospect of running 30 miles a day for 4 back-to-back days is one that wakes us in the night sweating. (The screaming will come as the date gets closer).

But after Gaz lost his dad, Colin to Prostate Cancer at the end of 2016, we wanted to try our best (and push ourselves damn hard) to raise some money and more importantly some awareness for this condition.

There are plenty of facts about the condition at https://uk.movember.com ... but perhaps most strikingly, every single hour of every day in England alone, 1 man dies from Prostate Cancer.

We can't describe how much we would love your support.

Whether it's donating the few quid you'd spend on your next Frappecino, or joining us in our training to gee us along, or just posting some abuse and/or support on our web pages. Please spread the word.

Thank you for reading, and have a smashing day!

Love,

The BalatonBros
